Dow - 1987 Crash

The Crash of 1987. As you can see from the chart, the market drop was about a 2 week event. Although it was a huge pecentage loss in a very short period of time, it was a great buying opportunity. Panic selling set in for many, but those with calm heads could have made alot of many on the rebound. It took the market about 2 years prior to the crash to move up about 1100 points. In just a couple of weeks the market dropped about 1100 points. It then took about 2 years to get back those losses. I guess this lends support that markets drop faster than they go up.
